How to build a profitable podcast.
This week's bCaster of the week is Shandra Moran the host of The Transit Lounge
Let us welcome our bCaster of the week...
This week, it's Shandra Moran with The Transit Lounge- welcome Shandra!
Why did you start your podcast?
I started the podcast as a way to create regular content and as a way to build connection and rapport with people before they work with me.
What has been the best thing about running your podcast?
It really helped me to refine my message and the focus for my business. It's also been great to get messages from people saying they really enjoyed an episode or a particular idea I shared.
Who is your perfect listener and how do you help them?
My perfect listener is a woman 40+ who has had a career and now wants to start her own solo business.
I help her by sharing stories of other women who've started a business after 40 as well as giving practical tips, insights and cautionary tales they can use as they start and grow their own business.
Have you made a profit from your podcast? If not, do you plan too?
The most 'profitable' aspect so far is all the content that is evergreen that I can repurpose - as well as giving me a lot of insights on common themes from all the interviews I have done.
The podcast also gives a level of credibility about me and helps to position me as an expert in this area.
What is your favourite thing about podcasting?
I love the people I have connected with through interviews, or training programs -and I really love that I don't have to have done my hair nicely to record a podcast!
