How to build a profitable podcast.
This week's bCaster of the week is Maik Frank the host of The Coaching Leader Podcast.
Let us welcome our bCaster of the week...
This week, it's Maik Frank with The Coaching Leader Podcast- welcome Maik!
Why did you start your podcast?
I started my podcast to democratize professional coaching skills with People Leaders in organizations anywhere in the world.
I believe the world will be a much better place, when every Leader knows how to engage in a more curious and inquiring way, rather than advising and telling. I run my podcast to make a vast number of simple techniques and methods available to anyone who is curious and willing to grow!
What has been the best thing about running your podcast?
I can get to know all kinds of different people who share my love for two things: professional coaching and podcasts.
Who is your perfect listener and how do you help them?
Over the years I have noticed that most Leaders do not know yet how to coach, instead they advise and mentor. This means they likely don't even know that they have not yet addressed a blind spot in their communication skillset.
Two truths about coaching: (1) It must be learned and (2) it can be learned in relatively short time.
My perfect listener is any current or aspiring Leader who wants to take their ability to listen and concisely speak to a new level. They are curious to learn advanced, professional coaching skills in a bite-sized and digestible format, delivered by an experienced, professional leader coach.
My listeners go away with concrete ideas and experiments how they can increase their impact in any of the conversations they have, work and beyond.
Have you made a profit from your podcast? If not, do you plan too?
I have gained on so many levels: I have built my skill in delivering concise messages; I have learned to connect with my audience in a different manner; It has attracted new people to my brand and given me an effective way to further share my content in an accessible format.
Over time, I plan to share a significant portion of the content of my online, advanced Leader Coaching Course (the 'IntelliCoach Leader Academy') through the podcast, so it helps spread these powerful skills in all corners of the organizational world.
What is your favorite thing about podcasting?
The greatest thing is that the podcast is such a wonderful method to connect with ever more people who share my vision that the world will be a much better place when every Leader knows how to coach.
