How to build a profitable podcast.
This week's bCaster of the week is Keith Hill, the host of the CreativeHill Podcast.
Let us welcome our bCaster of the week...
This week, it's Keith Hill with the CreativeHill Podcast with Keith Hill - welcome Keith!
Why did you start your podcast?
I started producing a podcast after thinking long and hard about how to leverage the audience I built for my festival production company UptownJazzDallas, North Texas' largest jazz movement. Because of the pandemic, there are no major public gatherings which shutdown the entertainment industry. With the start of my company CreativeHill, I needed a way to begin a new track for business where I could begin sharing information in the areas of entertainment, lifestyle, culture and finance. Producing the podcast show was no issue. How to distribute it to podcast platforms was another thing. This is where bCast solve my problem.
Podcasting extends the reach of our educational content. Audio consumes less data and bandwidth. This allows students with bad Wi-Fi connection to still connect to our content through podcasts.
What has been the best thing about running your podcast?
Finally realizing that I just needed to get started. Stop trying to be perfect and get going with it. That broke a damn open. Now I'm excited about getting more out.
Who is your perfect listener and how do you help them?
People who love to improve themselves. Who love entertainment, lifestyle, culture and finance topics.
Have you made a profit from your podcast? If not, do you plan too?
I'm just starting out, so the goal is to get to 10,000 listeners as soon as I can. The plan is definitely to monetize what I do. That'll happen organically though.
What is your favourite thing about podcasting?
Being able to share things that I know about. That I discover along the way that could benefit people. Podcasting opens the door for me share with anyone who'll listen.
